On Thursday 23/1/2025 educators for Disabled people in Greece had the chance to discover the exciting world of Advanced Materials. With the guidance of Kostas Giannakopoulos Researcher of the Electron Microscopy Lab (Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, Greece) they discussed how new Materials are reforming our world and about the exciting new technologies that are about to appear. The discussion included also the idea for forming small collaboration projects: ie if the learners can help the researchers by measurement of nanoparticle sizes on Transmission Electron Microscopy images. The session lasted 65 minutes and was followed by 9 people, all from non-governmental organisations : 2 from the Child and Adolescent’s Center, 2 from the Panhellenic Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Professional Reintegration and 5 from Science For You (SciFY).
